The group of the INFN Section of Pavia belonging to CHNet is made up of researchers and technicians who use and manage the TRIGA Mark II nuclear research reactor, in operation at the LENA, which has a nominal power in steady state of 250 kW and a maximum total neutron flux of about 2×1013 cm- sec- .
The presence of different in-core and out-core irradiation channels guarantees a wide flexibility of use of the reactor in different research fields. In particular, as part of the CHNet network, the new Gamma Prompt facility is being characterized, which uses one of the reactor s four horizontal neutron channels.
